I wouldn’t call myself a timid person, but when it comes to owning and reclaiming my personal power, I tend to cower from it. I did this in the past because I was afraid to unleash my power in the way that I saw others abuse their power when I grew up. I learned that power was volatile and caused great harm and so I squelched mine causing me to rely on other people to fulfill my needs.
Have you squelched your personal power? And why? More woman than men squelch their personal power because we mistake it for something dangerous, toxic, or unladylike. After all, no one wants to act like a female version of Napoleon. But personal power should not be confused with abusive power which comes from the ego and not spirit. Personal power on the other hand allows us to engage in the flow or what we call synchronicity. Personal power connects us to our intuition and causes us to align with our dreams. We can’t even manifest our dreams or fulfill our life paths without personal power.
So many of us find ourselves at the end of our ropes. We give up on our dreams, compromise our idealism and then go about conquering and smashing down other people’s dreams too. And that’s the worst abuse of power–to use it against ourselves or against others because ironically we won’t claim our power. So how do we reclaim our power?
We first acknowledge that we are co-creators with God. Then we accept that God is purely loving and it is humans that create darkness and shadows based from our egos. We set the intention to go inward and heal our wounds that revolve around abuse of power or people using their power against us. We forgive, we let go, and we reach an understanding that leads to compassion. Then we set the intention to become acquainted with our intuition and inner power. Then we set the intention to live our lives from the inside out, not relying or expecting others to do anything for us.
And what I’ve learned recently is that when we live in this void of no expectations, that’s when people show up at the right place and the right time to cooperate with us. In this respect, we don’t need to manipulate or control anyone to do our wishes. We live after all in a cooperative and creative universe. It’s in the act of letting go or surrendering our dreams, that we manifest them. And those who are meant to be in our lives show up and those who aren’t meant to be in our lives depart and go their own way. It’s simple really.
